TOGAF 9 Foundation (Part 1) - provides validation that the candidate has gained knowledge of the terminology and basic concepts of TOGAF 9 and understands the core principles of Enterprise Architecture and TOGAF TOGAF 9 Certified (Part 2) - provides validation that in addition to knowledge and comprehension, the candidate is able to analyze and apply knowledge of TOGAF
The exams are what you need to pass to reach a certification qualification. The Part 1 exam is for TOGAF Foundation, and the Part 2 exam is for TOGAF Certified.
The TOGAF 9 People Certification program has been designed to accommodate maintenance updates to the TOGAF 9 specification, such as TOGAF 9.1. The certification remains as TOGAF 9 Foundation and TOGAF 9 Certified. Individuals who are currently certified in the TOGAF 9 People Certification program remain certified. Up until June 1st 2012 candidates could study either to the original conformance requirements or the revised conformance requirements, and the examinations have been designed to accommodate both up to June 2013 (this extended period allows for those candidates with exam vouchers who can take up to 12 months to take their examinations). From June 2013 the examinations can include new topic material from TOGAF .
The Combined Part 1 and Part 2 examination is designed for candidates who want to go to TOGAF 9 Certified without the intermediate step of TOGAF 9 Foundation, and who want to take both papers in one examination session. If you take the exams separately and only pass Part 1 you will be awarded TOGAF 9 Foundation. If you take the Combined Exam, and fail a section, you will need to retake the failed section(s) before certification will be awarded.
Your exam voucher is valid for one year from your TOGAF course date. We would advise you to write the exam as soon after completing the course as possible so that the material is fresh in your mind.
Additional time is permitted for individuals for whom English is a second language (ESL). ESL candidates are permitted to bring a translation dictionary into the exam (subject to Proctor inspection). Candidates who has English as a second language can apply for ESL(English Second Language) extension(additional time) via the Pearson VUE contact centre at 0800 995 044.
This examination comprises two separate sections. The TOGAF 9 Part 1 section is CLOSED Book. The TOGAF 9 Part 2 section is OPEN book. The Open Group's Examination Providers operate a clean exam room environment, so all applicable open book reference materials are provided electronically with the examination test. An electronic copy of the specification is built into the exam and becomes available in Part 2 only.
