ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) is a widely accepted approach to IT service management which helps businesses ensure their IT services are aligned with their needs and support their core processes. It provides numerous benefits such as controlled infrastructure services, improved decision making, financial management, clear organisational structure, high availability and better customer satisfaction.
The break-up of the pass marks for the ITIL Certification examinations are: Foundation: 65% to pass. (Score 26 out of 40). Practitioner: 70% to pass. (Score 28 out of 40). Intermediates: 70% to pass. (Score 28 out of 40). MALC: 70% to pass. (Score 35 out of 50)
To be successful in your ITIL 2011 Foundation course you must cover all the basics of ITIL. ITIL certification addresses all of the ITIL service lifecycle's five practice areas, including how the various lifecycle stages link to one another. Upon successful completion of all ITIL modules and have attained more than the minimum credits, you will be awarded an ITIL Expert Level Certificate
Once you have completed your ITIL 2011 Foundation course training, your certificate and corresponding PIN registration will be sent to you within a few days. You can get details on your ITIL certification from your training institute. ITIL foundation training certificate will be sent to the student within two business days electronically. The electronic certification is valid and can be sent to employers who may be interested in your qualifications. Special arrangements can be made to obtain the original hard copy certificate by contacting your training institution for facilitation
The ITIL 2011 Foundation course requires that students sit for a 60-minute exam to answer 40 multiple choice questions. The recommended study time for ITIL training and certification is at least 20 hours. There are five ITIL Certification Levels. Each level of exam passed earns the student points which will count in the final exam. If you are studying in a language that is not your native language, you are allowed to use 75 minutes.
